Christopher M. Ernst Joins CPR Dispute Resolution's Panel of Distinguished Neutrals

Christopher M. Ernst, FCIArb, NCPM, founder of Nationwide ADR®, has been appointed to the Panel of Distinguished Neutrals of CPR Dispute Resolution Services, serving as both an arbitrator and mediator. His appointments include CPR's General Commercial roster, Ohio panel, and Pro Bono panel.

About CPR Dispute Resolution Services

CPR Dispute Resolution Services is a nationally and internationally recognized provider of alternative dispute resolution services, with a particular emphasis on complex commercial disputes.

Its parent organization, the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR Institute), was established in 1977 through the efforts of corporate counsel and leading law firms seeking more effective alternatives to traditional litigation. Unlike organizations originally established primarily to administer disputes, CPR grew out of a collaborative effort among businesses, legal practitioners, and academics to improve the ways commercial conflicts are prevented, managed, and resolved.

Over nearly five decades, CPR has helped shape modern commercial dispute resolution through the development of arbitration and mediation rules, dispute prevention initiatives, and professional best practices. Today, its services include administered and non-administered arbitration, mediation, neutral selection, and other customized dispute resolution processes.

CPR handles a broad range of matters, including business and contractual disputes, financial services, construction, insurance, employment, intellectual property, and cross-border commercial disputes.

A Selective Panel of Experienced Neutrals

A distinguishing feature of CPR is its Panel of Distinguished Neutrals, a carefully selected roster of more than 500 arbitrators, mediators, and other dispute resolution professionals representing approximately 35 countries.

Unlike an open professional directory, admission to CPR's panel involves an application and review process that considers candidates' substantive legal experience, dispute resolution credentials, arbitration and mediation experience, training, and professional references. The roster includes experienced attorneys, retired judges, academics, and professionals with specialized business and industry expertise.

Ernst is one of only eight Ohio-based neutrals serving on CPR's Panel of Distinguished Neutrals, reflecting the relatively limited representation of Ohio practitioners on the organization's national and international roster.

CPR's emphasis on experienced neutrals reflects its longstanding focus on providing parties and their counsel with knowledgeable decision-makers and facilitators capable of addressing sophisticated commercial disputes.

Expanding Nationwide ADR®'s Dispute Resolution Services

Ernst's appointment further expands the institutional affiliations available through Nationwide ADR®, which provides arbitration, mediation, early neutral evaluation, and other dispute resolution services throughout the United States.

With more than three decades of experience in complex litigation and dispute resolution, Ernst serves on the panels of the American Arbitration Association (AAA), FINRA Dispute Resolution Services, National Arbitration and Mediation (NAM), and Resolute Systems. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Academy of Court-Appointed Neutrals.

His appointment to CPR's Pro Bono panel is consistent with his ongoing work to improve access to effective dispute resolution services, including his leadership within the American Bar Association's Section of Dispute Resolution.

The addition of CPR provides another avenue for parties and counsel to engage Ernst's services in commercial arbitration and mediation matters, both in Ohio and nationwide.
