Preparing the Person, Not Just the Case

I’m pleased to share that my article, “Preparing the Person, Not Just the Case: Helping Lawyers Get Clients Emotionally Ready for Mediation,” has been published in AAA Mediation Magazine.

The article focuses on a practical mediation point: a client can be legally prepared, financially prepared, and still not be emotionally ready to make a settlement decision. Lawyers and mediators can do more before the session to help clients understand risk, process disappointment, and choose resolution without experiencing settlement as surrender.
